Once owned by the aristocratic Castejón family, the Palacio Del Bailio Hotel is, as its name suggests, housed in an Andalucian Palace built between the 16th and 19th centuries. It includes restored granaries, coach-houses and stables and, unusually for a property in the heart Cordoba’s historic quarter, a beautiful garden together with courtyards enclosing jasmine, lemon and orange trees. The interior spaces are design-orientated, but the owners have astutely chosen colours and materials that fit with the original architecture, lending the hotel a modern, edgy comfort without losing its classical charm. The 70 guestrooms have high ceilings and feature stylish neutral décor, with brick walls, cream linens and dark wood furnishings. Dining options include the à la carte Senzone restaurant, serving regional and international cuisine, and a tapas bar. Guests can also relax and enjoy music in the lounge bar.
